Hello! Ciao! Welcome to our first Gigi B. newsletter.
We're already in the month of June and halfway through 2025. The old cliché applies for us at Gigi B-"Time flies quickly when you're having fun." We are entering this month of June with a nineteenth birthday on the horizon.
Gigi B. on Granville Island began on a cloudy Saturday; not unlike today as I pen this newsletter. We began this journey on June 17th 2006, with high hopes and many cherished dreams. Granville Island was (and remains) a beautiful oasis of arts and culture with curated retail shops and studios. The reality of a shop on Granville Island was a dream come true.
But enough about the past- we are heading into a new future and into our second decade.
WELCOME JUNE, BENVENUTO GIUGNO
The month of June brings up images of summer vacations, backyard BBQs, graduations, and Father's Day. Father's day is June 15th 2025.
As you can see, the tradition of Father's Day is alive and well. We have multitudes of Father's day cards. Some are sentimental, but we know what every dad wants: a little bit of humour on the side. Check out our selection when you visit us.
Another sublime "dad gift" is a hat. We carry a selection of Herschel Supply hats all through the year; but during the warmer months, a baseball cap from Herschel Supply fits the bill. With Canada Day around the corner- we have select Canada Day styles for that patriotic dad too.
A handmade comb or perhaps some shaving items might be perfect for the well-groomed dad. Kent combs, Rockwell Razors, and ACCA KAPPA are prime examples of easy pick-up gifts when you can't think of anything.
The dad who loves puzzles would love our store! Our shelves and display racks showcase puzzles of all sorts. The 3D wooden sets from ROKR, metal Earth and brain teasers are readily available all through the year and are always welcome as gifts.
Or perhaps your dad loves STANCE socks or a fun Robbie Vergara t-shirt. For the Star Wars obsessed dad, the "Bowtie" shirt and a pair of Darth Vader socks would fit the bill.
And we can't forget the dad who loves sports. An NHL cribbage board with his favourite team is a "can't miss" type of gift. Whatever you choose, will be the right gift for your dad.
June is a fun month and the perfect time for us to launch our website. The days are sunny and long; a visit to Granville Island is in perfect order for locals and visitors. Don't forget to go into the Net Loft and sat hi. You will be welcome.
